Colour Box Three (presentation three)

How a three-period lesson is done with Colour Box Three

The directress does a three-period lesson with the child using Colour Box Three. This three-period lesson is done by using different shades of a colour, for example, the directress may use different shades of purple: maroon, lavender, auburn.

First period: the directress tells the child “This is maroon, can you say maroon?”. She isolates each tablet by placing it to one side and continues in the same manner with lavender and auburn.

Second period: the directress asks the child to show her the different colours she calls out for, she muddles the colours up and asks the child again. The directress spends a lot of time in this period.

Third period: the directress asks the child if he can tell her what each colour is by pointing her finger at each tablet. She isolates them by placing them to one side.

The directress consolidates the lesson by encouraging the child to name each tablet individually by pointing at each one.
