The Boards

In a Montessori Math classroom, we use one wooden multiplication board to teach the child how to multiply, and one wooden division board to teach the child how to divide. The following activities are listed below:

Multiplication Board

The directress uses the Montessori Multiplication Board, and small red beads to teach the child how to find the product between two numbers. This is a wonderful activity that reinforces multiplication, as well as this activity helps the child memorize the multiplication tables.

Division Board

The child learns a new, wonderful way to find the quotient in elementary sums using the Montessori Division Board, green skittles, and small green beads. This activity helps the child have a better understanding of division, as well as this is an introduction to the division sign.
