Colour Box Two ( presentation two)
How is a three-period lesson done with Colour Box Two?
This activity is done in a three-period lesson. The directress chooses one colour the child knows and two colours the child does not know from Colour Box Two. She may choose yellow, pink, and brown for example.
First period: The directress brings forward the yellow colour tablet and says to the child “This is yellow, can you say yellow?”. The directress isolates the tablet by putting it to one side. She continues in the same manner with the pink and brown colour tablets.
Second period: The directress brings all three colour tablets forward. She asks the child to show her the different colours she asks for, she muddles them up and asks the child again. The directress spends a lot of time in this period.
Third period: The directress brings forward each tablet one by one, she asks the child to tell her what each colour is one by one, as she places them down in front of the child.
The directress consolidates the lesson by encouraging the child to name each tablet by pointing at each one individually.
What does the child learn by doing a three-period lesson with Colour Box Two?
The child learns the names of the colours, this activity promotes the child’s concentration, as well the child becomes more familiar with colours around him in his environment.
