Binomial Cube (presentation two)
How the second presentation with the Binomial Cube is presented
There are two control charts for this activity. The directress shows the child how to carry the box carefully with two hands to the table mat like before, then she shows him how to carry the control charts one at a time with two hands and places them next to the Binomial Cube. The directress ensures that the chart at the top is for the deeper cubes once she places the charts horizontally one below the other. The child learns how to build the cubes from the Binomial Cube onto the control charts.
The directress begins by building the cubes onto the lid like before. She then matches the first layer of cubes onto the first control chart and then matches the second layer of cubes onto the second control chart. Once she has built the cubes onto the control charts, the directress replaces them back in the box starting with the first layer of cubes.
What skills does the child acquire by doing the second presentation with the Binomial Cube?
This activity prepares the child for mathematics that will be done later on, it promotes the child’s judgment, memory, concentration, and colour discrimination.
