Thermic Bottles (presentation two)
The children learn to grade the Thermic Bottles from the coldest bottle to the warmest bottle. The child only uses one set of Thermic Bottles.
How is the second presentation with the Thermic Bottles presented?
The directress asks the child to sensitize his fingers as we will be working with our hands. She shows the child how to carry the box carefully with two hands, she unpacks each bottle one by one and places them randomly on the mat. The directress takes her time to feel for the coldest bottle, once she finds it she places it on the far left-hand side of the mat. She then feels for a warmer bottle, once she finds it she places it next to the coldest one on the left-hand side of the mat. The directress continues in the same manner with the remaining bottles. She grades all of the bottles from coldest to warmest. She feels all of the bottles from left to right to see if the Thermic Bottles have been graded correctly.
What does the second presentation with the Thermic Bottles teach the child?
The child becomes more aware of different temperatures in his environment, the child is more familiar with the lightness of touch, this activity refines the child’s thermic sense, as well as it promotes the child’s concentration.
