Geometric Cabinet (presentation six)
How the sixth presentation with the Geometric Cabinet is presented
The directress does a three-period lesson with the child using the Presentation Tray, which includes: the circle, square, and triangle.
First period: the directress introduces each shape to the child. She feels each inset with the correct pincer grip and names each one individually. She asks the child to do the same. The directress isolates each inset by placing them to one side.
Second period: the directress spends a lot of time in this period. She asks the child to show her the different shapes she calls out for, she may muddle the insets up and repeat asking him to name each one.
Third period: the directress asks the child to name each shape, pointing at each one as she does so. She isolates each inset placing each one aside.
The directress consolidates the lesson by encouraging the child to name each shape, pointing at each one individually.
