The leaf cabinet (presentation five: a naming exercise)

How a three-period lesson is done with the leaf cabinet

The directress does a three-period lesson with the child to test his knowledge so far. She uses one known, and two unknown leaf shapes.

First period: the directress tells the child the names of each leaf shape, and asks him to repeat them after her. She isolates the shapes, by placing them aside each time.

Second period: the directress spends much time in this period, asking the child to show her different shapes.

Third period: the directress asks the child to tell her the names of each leaf shape, isolating them by placing the shapes aside each time.

The directress consolidates the lesson by placing all three shapes in front of the child, telling him what was learnt that day.

The fifth presentation of The Flower Cabinet is presented in the same manner as above.
