Phonogram booklet
What is a phonogram booklet?
A phonogram booklet is similar to the pink and blue booklets. The difference with the phonogram booklet is each page has a phonogram highlighted in red on each page, as well as the phonogram on the front cover of the booklet is also highlighted in red.
How is this activity presented?
The directress begins the activity by placing the booklet in front of the child on the mat. She reminds him what sound the phonogram on the front cover makes. The directress then shows the child how to turn the pages of the book carefully like before.
The child is encouraged to sound out, blend, and read the first word on the page, the directress uses her finger as a guide once again. The directress lets the child turn the page and encourages him to repeat sounding out, blending, and reading each word on every page. She then assists him in packing away and thanks him for working with her.
